Building Digital Infrastructure That Gets Adopted

I build digital infrastructure and lead the strategy and communications that get it adopted. Over a decade in marketing and communications, hands-on full-stack development, and formal sustainability credentials, applied across finance, institutions, and the public sector.

Experience

Over a decade in marketing and communications, applied alongside hands-on technical delivery and formal sustainability credentials.

Marketing & Communications

Technology & data companies | Over a decade

Over ten years leading marketing and communications at technology and data companies. Content strategy, SEO, email marketing, brand and campaign work, stakeholder and program communications, and the day-to-day craft of getting an audience to understand, trust, and act on a complex product.

This shapes how I build: platforms designed for adoption from the start, and the stakeholder engagement, training, and change work that helps a delivered system get used.

Sustainability & Climate

Formal credentials · applied platform work

MSc Green Economy (Distinction) and BSc Conservation Biology, applied through operational platforms in carbon management, climate finance, and environmental monitoring. Policy and governance work spanning climate finance access, sovereign debt, and evidence-based adaptation, including a published policy paper and engagement through the COP30 Simulation Programme.

Domain fluency to work credibly in climate, sustainability, and development contexts.

Digital Platform Development

Independent · full-stack delivery

Production-grade platforms across finance, public-interest, and sustainability contexts: backend APIs, modern frontends, database design, third-party data integration, authentication, and AI-enabled features, deployed and maintained in live environments. The Borrower's Forum is open-source under MIT licence and publicly verifiable. See the work below.

Selected Projects

From policy research to operational platforms, across finance, public-interest, and sustainability work, demonstrating delivery that transfers across sectors

Borrower's Forum Platform

Live

An open-source sovereign-debt intelligence platform, live at borrowersforum.org. It operationalizes a concept developed in the Debt Alliance and Climate Finance Lab, part of the COP30 Simulation Program at the British University of Egypt, addressing the long-standing coordination gap between creditors and debtor nations. Selected for the ITU AI for Good Innovate for Impact 2026 Report (AI and Finance).

Key Features

  • AI strategy tools: debt-strategy briefs and advisory chat (Claude API)
  • Debt impact calculator: converts debt service into development equivalents
  • Precedents database: 23 historical restructuring cases (2017 to 2023) with weighted similarity matching
  • Live World Bank data for 190+ countries
  • Secure REST API: key authentication, rate limiting, full OpenAPI docs

Impact

  • Bridge coordination gap between creditors and debtors
  • Shared analytical tools and knowledge for debtor nations
  • Enable data-driven debt negotiation
  • Strengthen collective bargaining position for borrowing nations

SAGE Carbon

Pilot

AI-driven sustainability intelligence product for institutional carbon management, piloted at Bournemouth University (Talbot House campus). A product I build through SAGE Platform, Inc.

Capabilities

  • Multi-utility tracking (electricity, gas, water)
  • Automated sustainability-reporting workflows
  • Real-time anomaly detection

Innovation

  • Novel SRS methodology (industry-first)
  • Multi-utility integration (electricity, gas, water)
  • Automated CSRD compliance

Forest Alert Kenya

Prototype

A forest-monitoring prototype built with real PyEO satellite data from the University of Leicester. It demonstrates geospatial data integration and near-real-time environmental monitoring, the detection side of the same forest-alert work as the PyEO Config Generator below.

What It Does

  • Integrates PyEO satellite imagery for forest-change detection
  • Surfaces forest-loss alerts over a monitored region
  • Demonstrates geospatial pipeline and mapping

Demonstrates

  • Earth-observation data integration
  • Environmental monitoring at regional scale
  • Applied geospatial development

PyEO Config Generator

Live

A configuration tool I built for the University of Leicester's PyEO Forest Alert System. It generates the setup files that drive satellite-based forest-loss detection, turning a manual, error-prone config process into a guided interface.

What It Does

  • Generates PyEO .ini configuration files through a guided UI
  • Coordinate systems, baseline and monitoring periods, cloud-cover thresholds
  • Change-detection class mapping (what to monitor, what to alert on)
  • Copernicus and SciHub data source selection

Demonstrates

  • Earth-observation domain tooling
  • Geospatial workflow design (EPSG, satellite imagery pipelines)
  • Turning a technical research process into an accessible interface

Green Safari Guide

Live

Platform promoting sustainable African travel, eco-tourism, and conservation efforts while dispelling misconceptions about the African continent.

Platform Focus

  • Showcases biodiversity and cultural heritage
  • Eco-friendly travel options and education
  • Supports conservation efforts
  • Boost regional economies and empower communities through revenue sharing

Future Vision

  • Interactive games for conservation education
  • Virtual tours of African ecosystems
  • Spatial language models for immersive learning
  • Community-driven content platform

AI Applications Portfolio

Live

A portfolio of AI tools exploring technology's potential for sustainable development, climate action, and African cultural preservation.

Climate Applications

  • Climate Policy Guide
  • Green-AI Whiz
  • Carbon Factory Footprint
  • Green Safari Guide GPT

Cultural Preservation

  • Jambo Kenya
  • African Indigenous Tribes
  • Swahili Explorer

Education & Research

Academic foundation in climate policy, sustainability science, and operational platform development

COP30 Simulation Program

British University of Egypt | August - November 2025

Selected for competitive cohort program exploring climate policy solutions across adaptation, mitigation, climate finance, loss and damage, and related challenges.

Developed multiple proposals addressing climate coordination challenges collaboratively with cohort. From these discussions, I conceptualized digital infrastructure to operationalize the Borrower's Forum concept.

Published policy paper: "Enhancing Kenya's Climate Adaptation Governance: A Policy Framework for Evidence-Based Climate Finance Access"

Presented our research and proposals with cohort at COP30 Conference, Brazil (November 2025).

Master of Science in Green Economy | Distinction

Bournemouth University, UK | September 2023 - November 2025

Comprehensive program covering six core units: Climate Change and Carbon Management, Frontiers of Sustainability Science, Sustainable Development in Practice, Natural Capital and Nature Markets, Environmental Policy and Social Justice, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy Transitions.

Applied coursework through developing SAGE Carbon, an AI-driven sustainability intelligence system, deployed as an operational pilot at Talbot House campus.

Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology

Kenyatta University, Kenya | 2013 - 2017

Program covering ecology and biodiversity, wildlife conservation and management, environmental impact assessment, and ecosystem management.

Undergraduate Research Project: "Assessing the Role of Eco-Tourism on Community Based Conservation at Lake Naivasha, Kenya" - early exploration of sustainable tourism's impact on local conservation efforts.

This sparked a lasting interest in eco-tourism that later inspired the Green Safari Guide platform.
